Days 1 & 2
We were so excited to begin our honeymoon in gorgeous Maui! We had so many recommendations from friends and family and had no idea what adventures we'd end up on, but we knew it would be a trip to remember.
Leaving our apartment at 4 am was no fun, but we were beyond excited for our trip!
The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa
The Hyatt was absolutely amazing! The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, the grounds were stunning--we can't say enough great things about the Hyatt! We walked around other resorts in the Ka'anapali area and we were still so impressed with The Hyatt in every way.
Tired, but smiling with my lei from our arrival greeting.
Nathan and his shell necklace.
Our room. We went with a standard king room, since we didn't plan on spending too much time in it anyway--a suite would be wasted on us. The room was still a great size, with a sitting area, indoor and outdoor table seating, and separate bathroom and sink/mirror station. We had plenty of room to spread out in.
Different sitting areas in and outside of the room. To the left of the balcony, we had an ocean view; to the right, we had the golf course green.
Plenty of room to get ready in is critical for us!
Hyatt Grounds
All of that touring around made us hungry!
The Hyatt grounds are home to many species of wild birds--penguins, flamingos, swans, parrots, and ducks. They were adorable to watch.
The Hyatt is right on the beach, so access to beach activities and swimming was super easy (although we preferred the gorgeous pool!).
The ocean almost stole his flip flops!
The courtyard, looking straight down. It's so shaky because we were high up there!
How can you not be happy when you have views like these?
